Abstract: A head-wearable electronic includes at least one processor comprising processing circuitry, one or more cameras having a first field of view (FOV), one or more sensors having a second FOV narrower than the first FOV, and memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the at least one processor individually and/or collectively, the memory including one or more storage media. The one or more programs may include instructions to cause the head-wearable electronic device to: identify whether an object corresponding to a representation in a first frame image of the first FOV obtained through the one or more cameras, the object positioned within the second FOV of the one or more sensors, corresponds to a reference object; based on the object being different from to the reference object, store depth values obtained with respect to the object to generate a depth map for a second frame image to be obtained through the one or more cameras; and based on the object corresponding to the reference object, refrain from storing the depth values.
