The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a hardware-aware adaptive intrusion detection system for software-defined networking and cloud environments. The system comprises a telemetry acquisition module for receiving flow and controller telemetry from network devices, a preprocessing module for generating normalized feature vectors, a metaheuristic feature masking engine for selecting compact subsets of telemetry features, a wrapper evaluation module for scoring candidate feature masks, a sparse Bayesian classification module for classifying selected telemetry features, and an alert generation module for issuing security alerts. In embodiments, the feature masking engine uses chaotic initialization, adaptive exploration/exploitation scheduling, and opposition-based refresh, while an adaptation controller modifies operation based on controller load, false-alarm variance, or resource stress. The system reduces runtime dimensionality, controller-side processing burden, and false-alarm instability while maintaining intrusion detection capability in SDN and cloud networks.
