Abstract: A hardware-attested floor-based cryptographic access control system (100) is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a barometric sensing module configured to acquire atmospheric pressure measurements, a processing module configured to determine altitude information using reference pressure information and generate a floor identifier, and a secure element configured to generate a cryptographically signed altitude proof object comprising pressure information, altitude information, floor identifier information, timestamp information, challenge information, query-digest information, and pressure-spectrum descriptor information. A retrieval gateway is configured to receive a retrieval request and the altitude proof object and perform signature verification, freshness verification, floor verification, query-digest verification, and pressure-spectrum descriptor verification. A hardware security module is configured to derive a floor-specific cryptographic key responsive to successful verification and provide decryption information corresponding to an encrypted floor-scoped repository. A tamper-evident audit ledger stores authorization records in a cryptographically verifiable structure.
