MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641075839 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on June 19, 2026, for Hardware-Anchored Intelligent System For Verifiable Digital Forensic Triage And On-Device Incident Response.
Inventors include Arivoli A; Dr. Kalaavathi B; and Radhika Chopde.
The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.
Abstract: A hardware-anchored intelligent framework for verifiable digital forensic triage and local incident response is disclosed. The framework comprises an 8-Agent Collection Suite (101) for collecting forensic artifacts, a Data Normalization and Hardware-Bound Merkle Seal Module (102) for evidence normalization and integrity protection, a Deterministic Grounding Engine (103) for generating mathematically verifiable forensic scores, a Local LLM Narrative Synthesis Module (104) for producing explainable forensic reports, an Active Remediation Hub (105) for executing authorized response actions, and an Interactive Dashboard and Sealed Audit Interface (106) for visualization and audit management. A recursive Merkle tree is generated from collected evidence, and a Merkle root is cryptographically combined with a workstation hardware identifier to create a sealed root hash, thereby ensuring workstation-locked evidence integrity and non-repudiation. The grounding engine (103) constrains the local LLM module (104) to generate only evidence-supported findings, enabling secure, verifiable, and explainable forensic analysis and incident response.
