Abstract: The present invention relates to an Artificial Intelligence (AB-based sign language recognition and translation system, Hand Speak AT, designed to facilitate effective communication between individuals who use sign language and those who do not. The invention utilizes a standard camera to capture hand gestures and employs computer vision, hand landmark detection, and deep learning techniques to recognize sign language gestures in real time. The recognized gestures are processed through an AI-based classification model and translated into meaningful text, which can further be converted into natural speech using a Text-to-Speech (TTS) module. Unlike conventional systems that rely on sensor gloves or specialized hardware, the proposed invention provides a cost-effective, portable, and non-invasive solution by requiring only a camera-enabled device. The system incorporates image preprocessing, feature extraction, gesture classification, and real-time translation to ensure accurate performance under varying environmental conditions. It is capable of reducing communication barriers, improving accessibility, and enabling seamless interaction in healthcare, education, workplaces, government offices, and other public environments.
