MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099487 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on August 18, 2026, for Hand Rehabilitation Device And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Disha Singh; and Harsh Srivastava.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A portable electro-mechanical rehabilitation device (100) and computer implemented control method for rehabilitation of finger spasticity and neuromuscular dysfunction are disclosed. The device (100) comprises a conformable palmar support platform (101), adaptive finger engagement modules (102) coupled through articulated multi-axis joint assemblies (103), an active force generation assembly (104), a bio-signal acquisition unit (105), a neurostimulation module (106), and an embedded processing unit (107) operatively connected to a machine-learning based therapeutic control engine. The device (100) continuously acquires biomechanical and electrophysiological feedback data and generates synchronized actuator control signals and adaptive neurostimulation parameters for coordinated mechanical mobilization and electrical stimulation of one or more digits. The active force generation assembly (104) may include hybrid actuators comprising shape memory alloy actuators, servo actuators, and variable stiffness mechanisms. The system dynamically modulates stimulation and mobilization parameters in response to detected muscular resistance and movement characteristics for adaptive rehabilitation and neuromuscular training.
