Abstract: Title of the Invention: HAND-OPERATED MODULAR TUBULAR SURFACE CLEANING DEVICE ABSTRACT A manually operated cleaning device (20) for cleaning an exterior surface of an installed glass tube of a solar water heater (21) is disclosed. The device comprises an elongate handle assembly (16), a cleaning head (22), and a replaceable cleaning pad (3) supported on an inward-facing region of the cleaning head. The cleaning head is positionable about an arcuate portion of the tube so that the pad remains in wiping contact while the head is manually moved longitudinally. In an illustrated arrangement, first and second cleaning head members (1, 2) are releasably retained by complementary locking means (17, 18), and the pad is detachably mounted by hook-and-loop fastening (13). The handle may be modular and/or telescopic and may be coupled to the head through a joint permitting angular positioning. The device enables repeated exterior cleaning while the tube remains installed.
