MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110453 A) filed by Sharda University on September 15, 2026, for Hallucination-Verification System And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Kumar, Alok; Naaz, Sheenam; and Goyal, Ashu.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A hallucination-verification system (100) and method produce a factually verified, confidence-annotated summary of a source document. A hardware processor (102), a memory (104) and a network interface (106) implement a document ingestion and pre-processing module (108), a first summarizer interface (110), a summary output interface (114) and, interposed there between, a claim-level verification layer (116). The verification layer causes a structurally independent second summarizer (120) to generate a second candidate summary, decomposes each candidate summary into atomic claims, computes a cross-model consensus score and an entailment score against the source sentences, and assigns each claim a KEEP state, FLAG state or DROP state by conjunctive threshold logic, FLAG claims being resolved by a third large-language model (132). The emitted summary contains only KEEP claims, each carrying a confidence annotation and a traceability pointer. Unsupported statements are filtered without model retraining. (Figure 6)
