MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641066126 A) filed by The Principal, mepco Schlenk Engineering College on May 26, 2026, for Half Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide Based Decoupling In Orchid Inspired Slotted Mimo Antenna Fo.
Inventors include P. Palniladevi; and Dr. T. Sabapathi.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The invention discloses the development of Half-Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide (HMSIW) based decoupling integrated with an Orchid-inspired slotted MIMO antenna for isolation enhancement and size reduction. This HMSIW, a planar waveguide structure that preserves high Q-factor and low loss, was used to isolate antenna elements effectively while maintaining compactness. The novel arrangement of HMSIW vias and Orchid petals with orthogonal fed led to substantial improvements in isolation with reduced electromagnetic interference, and size reduction of up to 30% compared to conventional designs.
