MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511016374 A) filed by Sanskriti University on February 25, 2025, for Hair Grooming Assistive Device.

Inventors include Dr. Arvind Kumar; and Dr. Jitendra Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A hair grooming assistive device, comprises of a platform 101 developed to be positioned by a hairdresser in proximity with a backrest of a chair, a proximity sensor integrated on the platform 101 to detect distance between the platform 101 and the backrest, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 103 synced with a LiDAR sensor to detect dimension of the backrest, a pair of motorized clamps 104 integrated on the platform 101 to grip the backrest in order to secure the platform 101 with the backrest, multiple suction units 105 to get the clamp adhered with the backrest securely, an angle sensor to monitor angle of the platform 101 with respect to the backrest and pair of pneumatic plates 110 to extend towards shoulder portion of the user in order to cover the shoulder portion of the user during grooming of hairs.
