MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411094225 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges on November 30, 2024, for Gudgeon Pin Manufacturing Assistive Device.

Abstract: A gudgeon pin manufacturing assistive device, comprises of a platform 101 having multiple suction cups 102 arranged underneath the platform 101 to adhere to the platform 101 for securing the platform 101 on the surface, a circular disc 103 having multiple links 104 curved downward from end to positon an elongated cylindrical bar in between the links 104, an imaging unit 107 installed on platform 101 to determine dimensions of the bar, a motorized hinge joint 108 to provide converging/diverging movement to the links 104 for allowing the links 104 to grip one end of the cylindrical bar, a motorized cutting unit 111 for cutting a workpiece of the bar, a robotic arm 112 to acquire a grip of the workpiece, and a drilling unit 113 to drill a cavity in the workpiece as per the user-specified gudgeon pins.
