Abstract: The present invention relates to a green extraction system for recovering polyphenolic compounds from orange peel biomass using deep eutectic solvents (DES). The system comprises biomass pretreatment, DES preparation, solvent optimization, solid-liquid extraction, separation, and characterization units integrated into a sequential extraction architecture. A deep eutectic solvent comprising choline chloride and glycerol is utilized as an environmentally friendly extraction medium for selective dissolution of phenolic compounds through intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions. The process includes controlled water-assisted DES optimization, drying, grinding, sieving, and extraction under optimized temperature, agitation, extraction-duration, and solid-to-liquid ratio conditions. The extracted compounds are separated through centrifugation and characterized using UV-visible spectroscopy, FTIR, HPLC, and SEM techniques. The invention provides sustainable agro-waste valorization, enhanced phenolic recovery efficiency, reduced solvent toxicity, minimized environmental impact, and environmentally sustainable extraction of bioactive compounds from citrus processing waste.
