The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The Gravity Guided Emergency Wheelchair Transfer Platform for Uneven Public Access Surface is an innovative accessibility and emergency-assistance system designed to improve the safe movement of wheelchair users across uneven public surfaces. Many public areas such as entrances, sidewalks, temporary pathways, ramps, and emergency evacuation routes may contain uneven or unstable surfaces that create difficulties for conventional wheelchairs. This project proposes a specially designed transfer platform that uses the principle of gravity-guided movement to assist controlled and stable wheelchair transfer. The platform consists of an inclined access structure with raised side rails and a guided movement mechanism that helps maintain the direction and stability of the wheelchair during transfer. The structural arrangement reduces the possibility of unwanted lateral movement and supports the wheelchair while travelling across changes in surface level. The guided pathway provides a safer route for wheelchair users, particularly in situations where normal accessibility facilities may be unavailable or unsuitable. The system is intended to support emergency evacuation and public accessibility by providing a simple mechanical solution that can be integrated into areas with uneven access conditions. Its design focuses on stability, controlled movement, user safety, and ease of operation. The gravity-assisted principle can reduce the physical effort required during transfer while maintaining a guided path for the wheelchair. The proposed design aims to contribute to inclusive infrastructure by improving accessibility for persons with mobility challenges. It can be applied in public buildings, transportation areas, emergency evacuation zones, temporary access routes, and other locations where uneven surfaces may create barriers. The isometric design shown in the submitted drawing illustrates the overall structure of the proposed platform, including the inclined transfer surface, side guidance arrangement, and supporting structure.Overall, the Gravity Guided Emergency Wheelchair Transfer Platform presents a practical and innovative approach to enhancing wheelchair accessibility and emergency mobility. The project emphasizes the importance of safe, inclusive, and reliable access systems for creating more accessible public environments.
