Abstract: The present invention relates to a graphene-based hybrid electrode configured for use in supercapacitors and next-generation energy storage systems. The electrode comprises a graphene-based conductive framework integrated with an electrochemically active material to form a hybrid electrode structure having enhanced accessible surface area and electrical conductivity. The graphene-based framework provides interconnected conductive pathways for charge transport, while the electrochemically active material provides accessible regions for electrochemical charge storage. The hybrid configuration facilitates interaction between electrolyte ions and electrochemically active regions during charging and discharging. The electrode structure is configured to reduce surface accessibility limitations associated with aggregation or restacking of graphene layers and to improve utilization of the available electrode surface. The hybrid electrode may be incorporated into a supercapacitor cell comprising electrode assemblies, an electrolyte, and a separator. The combined conductive framework, active material, and accessible surface configuration provides an electrode architecture for electrochemical energy storage applications requiring improved charge transport and surface utilization.
