Abstract: ABSTRACT GRAPH-BASED MODELS WITH INTERFACE NODES An overlay system (202) is provided that includes a storage element and processing 5 circuitry coupled thereto. The storage element stores an executable graph-based model (100) having a plurality of active nodes, a plurality of interface nodes, and a plurality of overlay nodes. Each overlay node extends functionality of at least one interface node that defines a reusable structure for two or more active nodes. The processing circuitry receives a stimulus and identifies a first plurality of active nodes. The processing 10 circuitry determines, based on the first plurality of active nodes, a first interface node defining a reusable structure for the first plurality of active nodes. The processing circuitry determines a first overlay node associated with the first interface node.
