The method also includes based on the target position, selecting a group of grains from the grain database, wherein the selected group of grains comprises a first grain and a second grain. The method also includes determining a first weight, w1, for the first grain. The method also includes determining a second weight, w2, for the second grain. The method also includes producing an interpolated grain using the first weight, the second weight, the first grain, and the second grain. The method further includes rendering the interpolated grain.
