Abstract: A go-kart chassis comprises a main frame (110) with side rails (111) joined by a front cross-member (112) and a rear cross-member (116). A front impact-absorption module (113), comprising a deformable energy-absorbing insert (114), is removably mounted to the front cross-member (112) via a frangible shear-pin coupling (115), and a rear impact-absorption module (117) with insert (118) is similarly mounted via coupling (119). Upon impact, the insert progressively crumples and, if residual force exceeds a threshold, the coupling shears, releasing the module and limiting force transmitted to the main frame (110), while permitting replacement without welding. Side intrusion beams (120) with deformable rib inserts (121) provide lateral protection. A seat mounting subframe (122) is supported via elastomeric isolation mounts (123) attenuating residual shock, and a roll hoop (124) provides overhead protection, together improving occupant safety while reducing repair cost and downtime after collisions.
