Abstract: The invention is directed to a glazing unit for a roof of a vehicle, wherein the glazing unit is configured to couple light into an interior of the vehicle for illumination thereof, said glazing unit comprising a transparent or translucent roof panel which is configured such that means for coupling light into said roof panel can be positioned on a surface of the roof panel in order to couple light into said roof panel, wherein said roof panel comprises a first pane element which is an interior sheet-like element and functions as a light guide for guiding and coupling light from said means into the interior of the vehicle, and a film-like coupling structure positioned on the first pane element on a side thereof facing away from the interior of the vehicle, wherein the roof panel is configured such that a light source of said means can couple light into said first pane element by means of said coupling structure, wherein said coupling structure comprises a plurality of micro mirror elements. Each micro mirror element is oriented at an angle of inclination with respect to a normal of a surface of said coupling structure such that an internal reflection angle of light coupled into said first pane element is at least 74° normal to a surface of the first pane element and/or each micro mirror element is configured to distribute light in a light cone with an internal angle of at least 45° oriented in a plane of the first pane element.
