Inventors include Prof. Rajesh Kumar Verma; Dr. Devendra Kumar Singh; Ajit Kumar Yadav; and Virat Mani Vidyasagar.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) composite incorporating recycled glass recovered from end-of-life photovoltaic (PV) panels and a method (100) for manufacturing the same. The method comprises processing recovered photovoltaic glass into particulate glass powder, ultrasonically cleaning the particulate glass powder, dispersing the particulate glass powder within an epoxy resin, adding a curing agent, impregnating glass fiber reinforcement layers through a hand lay-up process, and subjecting the laminate to sequential pressure-assisted curing and thermal post-curing. The resulting composite exhibits substantially uniform filler dispersion, enhanced interfacial bonding, improved mechanical strength, improved thermal stability, and provides a sustainable approach for value-added utilization of photovoltaic panel waste.
