Inventors include Dr. Yadvendra Pratap Singh; Shashwat Singh; and Chaitanya Agarwal.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vision-based glare suppression system for vehicles that dynamically detects and suppresses glare while maintaining the visibility of critical roadway objects. The system comprises a forward-facing image acquisition module, a driver-facing image acquisition module, a glare detection module, a face tracking module, an object detection module, a parallax compensation module, an image processing module, and a display module. The glare detection module identifies high-intensity light sources from the forward roadway scene, while the face tracking module estimates the driver's head position, orientation, and distance to determine the driver's viewing perspective. The parallax compensation module dynamically adjusts the glare suppression region according to driver head movement, and the object detection module excludes traffic lights, traffic signs, and other important roadway objects from glare suppression. The image processing module generates a processed visual output with reduced glare and preserved roadway information. The invention improves driver visibility, enhances road safety, minimizes visual discomfort, and provides real-time adaptive glare mitigation suitable for intelligent driver assistance and automotive display systems.
