The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: A gesture-controlled wheelchair conversion system (100) detachably converts a foldable manual wheelchair into a powered mobility device while preserving foldability. The system includes a dual hub motor assembly (102), modular electronics packs (104) with a processor and motor driver circuitry, a wearable gesture control unit (106) having an inertial measurement unit, transmitter, and local processor, obstacle detection sensors (108), wireless communication modules (112), mounting and attachment systems (114), battery and charging infrastructure (116), and environmental protection features (118). The wearable unit acquires body-motion data and generates a control command using IMU calibration, gravity-vector remapping, sensor fusion, tremor suppression, and sustained- motion validation. The control command is transmitted as an encrypted low-latency wireless packet to the electronics packs for validation and differential dual-motor control to provide steering and in-place rotation with obstacle-responsive motor output modification. In an embodiment, health monitoring sensors (110) transmit caregiver alerts with location data on abnormality detection.
