Abstract: ABSTRACT GESTURE-BASED VEHICLE INTERACTION SYSTEM AND METHOD The present invention relates to a gesture-based vehicle interaction system and method, designed to enhance user interaction with vehicle systems through intuitive gesture recognition. The system comprises a gesture recognition sensor system, including strategically positioned cameras and infrared sensors within the vehicle cabin, to detect and interpret user gestures. A processing unit receives data from these sensors, employing computational methods to translate gestures into executable commands for various vehicle systems such as navigation, entertainment, and climate control. The vehicle control interface, integrated into the vehicle's control architecture, facilitates seamless communication between the processing unit and vehicle systems. A feedback system provides users with confirmation of gesture recognition and execution through visual, auditory, or haptic feedback. Additionally, a customization module allows users to tailor gesture commands to their preferences via the vehicle's infotainment system or a dedicated application, updating gesture recognition protocols accordingly.
