Inventors include A. Arun Kumar; Yashasavi Changra; and Pitchiah Raman.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: A geopolymer composite material for acoustic and thermal insulation in building applications and method thereof is provided. The geopolymer composite material includes geopolymer binder matrix reinforced with banana fibers and jute fibers for use as acoustic and thermal insulation wall panels in building applications. The geopolymer composite material provides a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to conventional wall panel materials such as concrete, gypsum board, and polymer- based insulation panels. The developed geopolymer composite material exhibits improved mechanical strength, lightweight characteristics, superior acoustic insulation, and reduced heat transfer. The disclosure further promotes utilization of industrial waste and renewable natural fibers, thereby reducing environmental impact and supporting sustainable construction practices. The wall panels formed using the geopolymer composite material are recyclable, environmentally friendly, and suitable for residential, commercial, industrial, and public infrastructure applications.
