MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621053914 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute Of Technology, Pimpri, Pune on April 28, 2026, for Generative Ai-Driven Framework For Sustainable Architecture Design.
Inventors include Dr. Rachana K. Somkunwar; and Mayur Patil.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a computer-implemented system and method for environmentally sustainable architectural design using generative artificial intelligence. The system integrates advanced generative models, including Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), diffusion models, and reinforcement learning algorithms, with diverse datasets comprising environmental parameters, geo-spatial information, climatic conditions, and material properties. It autonomously generates multiple architectural design alternatives based on defined constraints and project requirements. Each generated design is evaluated through a multi-objective optimization framework that assesses energy efficiency, carbon emissions, thermal comfort, natural ventilation, daylight utilization, and material sustainability. The system iteratively refines design outputs using feedback-driven learning to improve performance across these criteria. A ranking mechanism identifies optimal solutions, enabling designers and stakeholders to compare and select preferred options. Additionally, the invention provides interactive visualization tools for real-time exploration and modification of design alternatives. By combining AI-driven generative design with comprehensive sustainability evaluation, the system significantly reduces design time, enhances accuracy, and facilitates the development of climate-resilient, energy-efficient, and eco-friendly buildings and urban infrastructure.
