Abstract: The present invention relates to a phytochemical-loaded gelatin-alginate biopolymeric matrix enriched with extracts of Punica granatum and Moringa oleifera for periodontal disease management. The invention combines the extracellular matrix-mimicking characteristics of gelatin with the sustained-release properties of sodium alginate to enhance stability and bioavailability of herbal bioactive compounds. The developed matrix exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, wound- healing, and biocompatible properties. The formulation may be used as a hydrogel, scaffold, periodontal dressing, local drug delivery device, or tissue-engineering matrix for promoting periodontal healing and regeneration. The invention provides a biodegradable, biocompatible, and cost-effective alternative for localized management of periodontal diseases.
