The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a gear shift knob inner core for automotive applications, fabricated from a polycarbonate (PC) composite reinforced with basalt fibres. The basalt fibre reinforcement provides superior impact resistance, vibration damping, and mechanical durability while maintaining a lightweight structure. The inner core exhibits enhanced structural integrity under repeated mechanical stress and vibrations encountered during vehicle operation. The invention ensures long-lasting performance, improved driver comfort, and reduced component weight, making it suitable for modem automotive transmission systems. The component can be manufactured using injection moulding or other precision moulding processes, ensuring high dimensional accuracy and compatibility with mass production techniques.
