Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a gear driven rope pulling mechanism for securing and tensioning ropes used in heavy load transportation applications. The mechanism comprises a frame, an input handle connected to an input shaft, an input spur gear meshing with an output spur gear mounted on a driven shaft, a dual-pulley assembly, and a ratchet-pawl locking arrangement. Rotation of the input handle transmits motion through the spur gears to generate amplified torque at the driven shaft, thereby reducing the manual effort required for rope tightening. The dual-pulley arrangement facilitates balanced rope winding and uniform tension distribution, while the ratchet wheel and pawl assembly prevent reverse rotation and maintain the applied tension. The mechanism operates without electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic power sources, providing a compact, portable, and cost-effective solution for cargo securing. The invention improves load stability, operational safety, and rope tension retention in heavy load lorries and other transportation applications.
