Abstract: ABSTRACT GATING MECHANISM FOR MATERIAL CONVEYING SYSTEM The present disclosure provides a material conveying system (500, 700) including at least one holding structure (502a, 502b) and support structures (504a, 504b, 506a, 506b). At least one tray assembly (100, 300, 600) includes a tray (102, 302, 602) with a base (104, 304, 604), an edge (106, 306, 606) connecting the base to one or more side walls (108, 308) inclined at predefined angles, and a rim (110, 310, 610) with reinforcement structures on an exterior side for structural rigidity. A gating mechanism including at least one gate rotatably attached to the tray. At least one actuation assembly is mounted on the tray, operatively coupled to the gating mechanism, and configured to impart rotational motion through a predefined angle to selectively swing the at least one gate between an engaged position, a disengaged position, and a partially open position based on a volumetric requirement.
