MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617076995 A) filed by Medpacto Inc.; and Kim, Seong Jin on June 22, 2026, for Fusion Protein Specifically Binding To Extradomain B Of Fibronectin (edb-Fn) And Transforming Growth Factor ? (tgf?), And Use Thereof.

Inventors include Kim, Seong Jin; and Kang, Dong Woo.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a fusion protein that specifically binds to extradomain B of fibronectin (EDB-FN) and transforming growth factor ß (TGFß), and use thereof, and, more specifically, to a fusion protein comprising a polypeptide that specifically binds to EDB-FN and a polypeptide that specifically binds to TGFß, and use thereof. The fusion protein according to the present invention anchors TGFß, which is important in antitumor immune responses, to the extracellular matrix so as to localize TGFß inhibition directly within the tumor microenvironment and ensure local rather than systemic effect, thereby exhibiting excellent anticancer effect in all carcinomas, and also in pancreatic cancer in which common TGFß inhibitors do not act due to the rigidity of the extracellular matrix, and thus can be effectively used for preventing or treating cancer.
