Abstract: ABSTRACT A fundus imaging device (402) includes a lens housing (102) that retains an objective lens (104) configured to form an aerial image of a retina of an eye at a working distance. The fundus imaging device (402) further includes a main body (206) connected to the lens housing (102) and housing an annular illumination ring (214) about an optical axis (A1). The annular illumination ring (214) has a central aperture aligned with the optical axis (A1). The fundus imaging device (402) further includes a camera housing (208) connected to the main body (206) and retaining an image sensor (220) with a spectral filter (212) disposed directly over the image sensor (220). The objective lens (104) and the image sensor (220) are fixed at a predetermined axial separation distance such that the focal plane of the aerial image coincides with the image sensor (220).
