MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521002133 A) filed by Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited on January 09, 2025, for Fuel Vapor Management System For Fuel Emission Control During Refueling.
Inventors include Pramod Wable; and Vg Chowdary Boddu.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT FUEL VAPOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR FUEL EMISSION CONTROL DURING REFUELING A fuel vapor capturing system (200) is disclosed. The fuel vapor capturing system (200) includes a container (202). The container (202) is configured to collect fuel vapors. A conduit (204) is in fluidic communication with the container (202) and an inlet (206) of a fuel tank (108). A valve (208) is configured to control a flow of the fuel vapors from an enclosed space (203) surrounding the inlet (206) to the container (202) via the conduit. An electronic control unit (210) is coupled to a fuel flap (212) and to the valve. The electronic control unit is configured to detect opening of the fuel flap and initiate opening of the valve to enable the flow of the fuel vapors based on opening of the fuel flap. Upon opening of the valve, the fuel vapors pass through the conduit and are collected in the container (202) due to pressure difference. [
