Abstract: The proposed invention includes a FLO based QX-CI converter for EVs to convert energy efficiently. The proposed system uses a PV panel to capture solar energy and output variable amounts of DC power to QX-CI converter that provides high voltage gain, low switching stress, and lower conduction losses. FLO algorithm provides an intelligent optimization layer to continually adjust the converter parameters so as to provide maximum efficiency for dynamic solar and load conditions. FLO based PI controller that compares the reference DC voltage to the actual output and uses this information to generate control inputs needed by the PWM generator. PWM output is then used to switch the converter switches at the optimal times to provide a stable output DC voltage to EV load. This coordinated energy transfer results in maximum energy conversion efficiency, minimal thermal stress, and fast dynamic response.
