MUMBAI, India, June 19 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441094582 A) filed by K. Ramakrishnan College Of Engineering on December 02, 2024, for Frequency Selective Surfaces 4×4 Array Shielded On Multiband Crinkle Fractal Antenna For Gain Improvement.
Inventor includes Dr. R. Samson Daniel.
The application for the patent was published on June 05, 2026, under issue no. 23/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT FREQUENCY SELECTIVE SURFACES 4×4 ARRAY SHIELDED ON MULTIBAND CRINKLE FRACTAL ANTENNA FOR GAIN IMPROVEMENT The present invention (300) involves in the field of microwave source particularly a spatial filter, which is caused by frequency selective surface (FSS). The crinkle fractal antenna (102) leads to radiate at 1.17 GHz, 1.83 GHz, 2.34 GHz, 2.90 GHz, 3.65 GHz, 4.96 GHz and 5.66 GHz, it is designed on 20×20×1.6 mm3 FR-4 substrate (106). To ameliorate the antenna peak gain at specific frequency of 4.96 GHz, FSS has been integrated on the antenna as a superstrate (302). FSS possesses 44.5×44.5×0.8 mm3 geometry, which is modeled on FR-4 substrate (202). The present invention is ascertained to elevate the peak gain of the antenna from - 0.6 dB to 2.3 dB.
