Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a system and method for automated web application security inspection. The proposed system, FORTIS, is a lightweight tool designed to identify common security vulnerabilities in web applications. It performs automated reconnaissance by collecting HTTP response headers, webpage content, and server-related information from a target website. The system analyzes this data to detect security misconfigurations such as missing HTTP security headers, improper HTTPS implementation, exposed administrative endpoints, open directories, and potential leakage of API keys or tokens. It further evaluates authorization mechanisms and identifies insecure coding practices through pattern-based analysis. The system employs a modular architecture and utilizes multi-threading to improve scanning efficiency. Detected vulnerabilities are classified into predefined severity levels, and a structured report is generated containing identified issues along with recommended mitigation steps. The invention provides a simple, efficient, and user-friendly solution for early-stage vulnerability detection, thereby enhancing security awareness and supporting safer web application development practices.
