Abstract: Formulation of Medicated Lollipop for Enhanced Buccal Drug Delivery of Domperidone This invention describes a medicated lollipop formulation containing Domperidone, designed to enhance buccal drug delivery, improve bioavailability, and optimize patient compliance. The formulation addresses limitations of traditional oral dosage forms, such as low bioavailability due to hepatic first- pass metabolism and patient aversion to swallowing pills. Utilizing a saccharide matrix comprising sucrose, dextrose, and liquid glucose, the lollipop provides controlled and sustained drug release, adhering to zero-order kinetics with a maximum drug release of approximately 95.5%. The formulation is prepared using a heating and congealing method, ensuring uniform drug dispersion, chemical stability, and mechanical robustness. Organoleptic properties, including taste and texture, are optimized for pediatric use, while tamper-evident packaging ensures product integrity. Scalable for industrial production, the invention represents an innovative, patient-centric approach to antiemetic therapy, offering a practical and effective solution for managing nausea and vomiting in both pediatric and adult populations.
