Abstract: ABSTRACT FORMULATION OF BIODEGRADABLE VEGAN LEATHER FROM BIO BASED MATERIALS AND A METHOD THEREOF The present invention provides a formulation of biodegradable vegan leather from bio based materials and a method thereof. More particularly, a method of preparing vegan leather from mushroom fibers and tea waste powder using a biodegradable polymer binder. The mushroom fruiting bodies may be processed to extract fibers, while tea waste may be refined into a powder form. These components may be combined with a biodegradable polymer solution and a plasticizer to form a leather-like substance. The process may include blending the formulation, layering it onto a tray, drying, and post-processing treatments. The resulting material may exhibit properties similar to traditional leather while being more environmentally sustainable. The method may be adaptable to incorporate various natural fibers and organic waste materials, potentially allowing for customization of material properties and further sustainability improvements.
