Abstract: The present study was aimed at formulating and evaluating an anti-inflammatory gel containing Ganoderma lucidum extract for topical application. The dried fruiting bodies of Ganoderma lucidum were extracted using methanol by homogenization and probe sonication, followed by filtration and freeze-drying. The obtained extract was subjected to preliminary phytochemical screening to identify the major bioactive constituents. The gel formulations were prepared using Carbopol 940 and Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) as gelling agents, along with propylene glycol, triethanolamine, methyl paraben, propyl paraben, and rose oil. Nine formulations (F1–F9) containing 0.5 mL of the extract were prepared. The prepared gels were evaluated for appearance, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, spreadability, after-feel, and skin irritancy. The anti-inflammatory activity of the formulations was determined by the protein denaturation method using egg albumin. The results indicated that the formulated gels possessed satisfactory physic
