The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides a matrix-type transdermal patch composition of rivastigmine and a process for preparing the same. The patch comprises rivastigmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof dispersed within a polymeric matrix formed from at least one hydrophilic polymer and at least one hydrophobic polymer, together with a plasticiser, a permeation enhancer and an antioxidant, supported on an impermeable backing layer and protected by a removable release liner. The hydrophilic and hydrophobic polymers cooperatively control the release rate, the permeation enhancer promotes reproducible skin transport, and the antioxidant stabilises the active ingredient against oxidative degradation. The process comprises dissolving the polymers, plasticiser, permeation enhancer, antioxidant and rivastigmine in a solvent system, casting the solution upon the backing layer, drying, and cutting the film into patches, thereby providing a stable, adherent and skin- permeable transdermal patch of rivastigmine.
