Abstract: The present invention discloses a modified hydroalcoholic topical analgesic roll-on gel formulation intended for localized relief of menstrual pain associated with primary dysmenorrhea. The formulation comprises Diclofenac Sodium at one to two percent weight by volume as the anti-inflammatory and analgesic agent, Carbopol 940 as a gelling polymer, Camphor as a cooling and penetration-enhancing agent, Lavender Oil as a soothing and aromatherapeutic agent, Propylene Glycol as a humectant, Ethanol as a hydroalcoholic vehicle, and Triethanolamine as a pH-adjusting agent. The gel exhibits pH of 6.62, viscosity of 4150 centipoise, excellent spreadability and homogeneity, no dermal irritation, and cumulative in vitro drug release exceeding 95 percent within 12 hours. The formulation is contained within a roll-on applicator providing convenient, hygienic, and dose-consistent topical application to the lower abdominal region, offering reduced systemic adverse effects compared to oral NSAIDs with enhanced transdermal drug delivery and improved patient compliance
