Abstract: Provided are a foreign matter separation system, a foreign matter separation method, a program, and a computer-readable recording medium storing a program, capable of reducing the amount of scrap that is removed together with foreign matter in a scrap group. A foreign matter separation system (1) comprises: a conveyance device (20) that lifts and conveys a part of a scrap group (SS); a conveyance scrap foreign matter detection means (30) for detecting foreign matter (D) in the scrap group (SS) lifted by the conveyance device (20); and a control device (40) that, when the foreign matter (D) in the lifted scrap group (SS) is detected by the conveyance scrap foreign matter detection means (30), specifies the position of the foreign matter in the lifted scrap group (SS), and controls the conveyance device (20) so as to cause the scrap (S) and the foreign matter (D) in the lifted scrap group (SS) to fall to different locations on the basis of the specified position of the foreign matter (D).
