MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641092896 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education on July 31, 2026, for Food Product Warming Chamber With Automatic Selective Tray Sensing.

Inventors include Dr. S. Shasi; and Dr. P. Jayakumar.

The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.

Abstract: The titled invention discloses a food product warming chamber with automatic selective tray sensing for maintaining food products at a desired serving temperature while minimizing energy consumption. The warming chamber comprises a storage cabin (2) having a plurality of tray rack (3) with dedicated warming heater (4) and tray 10 proximity sensor (5). Each tray proximity sensor (5) detects the presence or absence of a food tray at a corresponding tray position and transmits a detection signal to the control panel (8), which selectively activates the associated warming heater (4). The temperature sensor (7) continuously monitors the internal temperature, enabling the control panel (8) to regulate the heating operation for maintaining a predetermined 15 temperature. The thermal insulated walls (10) reduce heat loss, while the transparent door (6) permits visual inspection without significantly affecting the internal temperature. The system further includes a warmer status display (9) for indicating the chamber temperature and operational status of the warming chamber. By selectively warming only occupied tray positions, the invention improves energy efficiency, 20 maintains food quality, reduces operating costs, and provides reliable temperature controlled storage for commercial food service applications.
