MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621099517 A) filed by Ratiben Rajabhai Kadegiya on August 18, 2026, for Flushable Water-Dispersible Multilayer Sanitary Pad With Sequentially Removable Absorbent Layers.
Inventor includes Ratiben Rajabhai Kadegiya.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multilayer absorbent hygiene article, particularly a sanitary pad, comprising a plurality of absorbent layers arranged in a stacked configuration and configured for sequential removal during use. The sanitary pad comprises a fluid-permeable top cover layer, multiple detachable absorbent layers, a base absorbent support layer, and a fluid-impermeable barrier layer. At least two absorbent layers are configured to be independently removable such that removal of a saturated upper absorbent layer exposes a fresh underlying absorbent layer for continued absorption of bodily fluids. The absorbent layers may comprise cellulose fibers, biodegradable fibers, synthetic absorbent materials, superabsorbent polymers, or combinations thereof. One or more absorbent layers may further comprise compressed expandable structures, fluid-distribution channels, and water-dispersible or flushable materials to facilitate environmentally responsible disposal. The invention improves absorbent utilization, enhances user comfort and hygiene, reduces sanitary waste generation, extends effective product usage, and provides an efficient and sustainable solution for menstrual and other bodily fluid management.
