MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617082267 A) filed by West, Jonathan Charles Devlin on July 03, 2026, for Flow Metering Insert For A Drip Chamber.
Inventor includes West, Jonathan Charles Devlin.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: A flow metering insert (10) for a drip chamber for use in intravenous administration comprises a primary liquid flow channel with an inlet passage (11), an outlet (13) and a flow-resistant passage (12) comprising an orifice. A flow indicating channel (14) communicates with the primary liquid flow channel. The flow-resistant passage and flow indicating channel are defined by first recess(es)/channel(s) (10r). The flow-resistant passage and flow indicating channel are located between the insert and a wall of the drip chamber. The flow-resistant passage orifice resists liquid flow, forcing liquid into the flow indicating channel. The level in the flow indicating channel is proportional to the rate of liquid flow through the primaiy liquid flow channel. The orifice is defined by a first face parallel with a plane defined by the orifice and a second face angled 20-55° relative to the plane of the orifice.
