The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the flow correction devices implemented in flue gas desulfurization (FGD) system to remove sulphur dioxide and other pollutants from flue gas of power plant. The flow correction devices comprising plurality of FGD duct system to flow the flue gas from outlet of ID fan to chimney inlet having an elbow shaped section of 90° bend, plurality of guide vanes (1), and plurality of guide plates (2). The flow correction devices are installed within the FGD ducts to ensure uniform flow distribution and turbulence reduction. Further, in ducting systems with ninetydegree bends, airflow often encounters turbulence and uneven distribution due to abrupt directional changes therefore, guide vanes are strategically installed within these bends to redirect airflow, minimizing turbulence and pressure losses. Therefore, overall efficiency of the FGD system improved by eliminating the losses from pressure drop, turbulence and irregular flow patterns in the ducting system.
