Abstract: A Floating Solar Panel System with Passive Water Cooling for Improved Efficiency is disclosed, comprising at least one photovoltaic (PV) panel supported above a water body by a buoyant floating platform and mounting frame. A passive cooling assembly is positioned beneath the PV panel and comprises a cooling plate thermally coupled to the underside of the PV panel and a water-cooling channel arranged below the cooling plate. The channel is in fluid communication with the surrounding water body, allowing water to circulate naturally through the channel by gravity and/or capillary action without an electrically powered pump. Heat generated in the PV panel is conducted through the cooling plate and transferred to the circulating water, while cooler surrounding water replaces heated water. The arrangement reduces PV operating temperature, improves electrical efficiency, and reduces thermal stress. The floating platform also reduces water evaporation and may inhibit algae growth.
