MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511049870 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Kanpur on May 23, 2025, for Flexible Substrate-Based Ph Sensing System.
Inventors include Siddhartha Panda; Amol Singh; and Shivam Trivedi.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a flexible substrate-based pH sensing system. The flexible substrate-based pH sensing system (100) comprises a flexible substrate (108) supporting a sensing electrode formed of a conductive oxide layer (106), optionally combined with a metal oxide layer. The sensing electrode interfaces with a liquid electrolyte through a micro reservoir (104) and a direct immersion. The flexible substrate-based pH sensing system (100) further includes a field-effect transistor (FET) (110) having a gate terminal electrically coupled to the sensing electrode via an extended gate conductive interconnect, and a reference electrode (102) positioned in the liquid electrolyte. An electronic readout circuit is operatively coupled to the FET (110) and includes a digital-to-analog converter for bias generation, a second signal conditioning unit with a current sense element for controlled current establishment, an analog-to-digital converter for signal digitization, and a processing unit for determining pH based on measured electrical parameters.
