Abstract: A medical device includes a tube and an occluding member. The tube is formed from an elastomeric material sufficiently rigid to maintain at least a portion of a lumen and sufficiently flexible to define an adjustable curvature along a tube axis. The occluding member is fixedly disposed within the tube lumen and is formed from an elastomeric material maintained in a compressed state by the tube. The occluding member includes an internal channel, the internal channel having a closed state maintained by the compressive force, preventing the flow of the fluid through the internal channel, and an open state wherein a pressure of the fluid overcomes the compressive force to at least partially open the internal channel to permit the flow of the fluid through the internal channel.
