MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641059754 A) filed by Lpg Equipment Research Centre, Bangalore on May 11, 2026, for Flexible Liquefied Petroleum Gas (lpg) Hose And Method Of Producing The Flexible Lpg Hose.

Inventors include Gupta, Santosh Kumar; and T D Sabu.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to a flexible liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) hose and method (200) for manufacturing the flexible LPG hose (100). The flexible LPG hose (100) comprises: an inner lining (110) of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) compound; a reinforcement layer (120) made of a plurality of braided brass-coated steel wires; and an outer cover (130) of nitrile butadiene rubber–polyvinylchloride (NBR-PVC) blend. The flexible LPG hose (100) can withstand a burst pressure of at least 4.0 MPa and a proof pressure 2.0 MPa, and maintain leak-proofness for at least 5 years. The method (200) comprises the steps of: preparing (210), an inner lining (110) by extruding NBR compound; braiding (220), a plurality of braided brass-coated steel wires over the inner lining (110) to obtain a reinforcement layer (120); applying (230), NBR-PVC blend over the reinforcement to produce an outer cover (130); vulcanizing (240) and testing (250) the flexible LPG hose (100).
