Abstract: Disclosed is a flexible electromagnetic interference shielding nanocomposite film comprising a polymer matrix and a platinized graphene oxide nanofiller dispersed within the polymer matrix. The polymer matrix comprises polyvinyl alcohol and chitosan. The platinized graphene oxide nanofiller comprises graphene oxide sheets carrying platinum nanoparticles and is present in an amount ranging from 1 wt.% to 5 wt.% with respect to the polymer matrix. The graphene oxide sheets carrying the platinum nanoparticles form conductive and dielectric interfaces throughout the polymer matrix. The nanocomposite film is formed as a flexible shielding layer in which the platinized graphene oxide nanofiller is distributed through the polymer matrix, thereby providing a bulk-dispersed nanofiller structure suitable for electromagnetic interference shielding applications.
