Abstract: The present invention describes a self-indicating tissue fixation solution capable of visually signaling completion of tissue fixation. The solution comprises an aldehyde- based fixative combined with a dual colorimetric indicator system that responds to biochemical changes occurring during protein cross-linking .reactions. As fixation progresses, the indicator dyes undergo a visible color transition, allowing laboratory personnel to determine fixation completion without relying solely on time-based protocols. The invention improves accuracy, reproducibility, and efficiency in histopathology workflows and is compatible with routine tissue processing and staining methods.
